Tell us where you’re based and what you’d like to do. Early ideas are welcome.
We’ll review your application and contact you. School branches also need school approval.
After approval, invite your group and choose a topic for your first meeting.
Applications are reviewed. Submitting the form does not automatically create an approved branch.
Our shared standards
Read these expectations before applying.
Applies to school, community and online branches.
Receive written approval from Research Nest before presenting your group as an official branch. Name a student lead and keep their contact details up to date. School branches must also follow their school’s club approval process and involve a teacher or staff adviser.
Welcome beginners and respect different backgrounds, interests and viewpoints. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, pressure to participate and spam have no place in a branch. Give members a clear way to raise concerns with the branch lead or school adviser.
Credit sources and collaborators, disclose AI assistance, and never fabricate data or present someone else’s work as your own. Label virtual-lab output as simulated data. Activities involving people, animals, personal data or hazards need appropriate institutional permission and qualified supervision before they begin.
Collect only the member information needed to run the group and keep it private. Ask permission before sharing names, photos, recordings or student work publicly, and follow school requirements for parent or guardian consent. Never post member contact lists in public channels.
Use the Research Nest name and logo only for approved branch activities. Clearly identify your own school or community branch. Do not claim endorsements, guarantee publications or awards, issue official Research Nest credentials, or arrange partnerships, fundraising or paid activities in our name without prior written approval.
Keep activities focused on research education, communicate plans clearly to members and let Research Nest know if your leadership changes or the branch pauses. Raise concerns through the team’s official Discord community; share sensitive details privately with a moderator. Research Nest may ask a branch to address concerns, pause activities or stop using its name if these standards are not followed.
